VETERANS DAY PARADE - TUCSON
Article, photos, and slideshow by Alan Edwards
November 12th was a glorious day in Tucson where a huge crowd assembled to see the Veterans Day Parade. The Parade theme was ‘Veterans Hand in Hand with America’. Over 70 groups participated in this event, with the VFW represented by Department Commander Betty Gripp and Department Surgeon L ‘Corky’ Gripp with LAVFW Department Vice President M ‘Ronnie’ Heinemann. VFW Posts participating were Tucson’s 549, 10008, 10188 and Marana 5990. Highlight of the Parade was a fly-over by jets from Davis Mothan AFB and VFW-10188 Gary Harlan playing taps during the invocation. The audience clearly enjoyed this event, and Tucson TV and Newspapers provided wide coverage.
