JULY 4th PICNIC
VFW Post and
Auxiliary 10188 was host to an Independence-Day Picnic in Tucson.
Held inside due to the weather, the event featured a really great
lunch with a variety of fun activities, a raffle, and ended with
dancing. Department Commander Betty Gripp joined a number of
officers to attend: Department Surgeon L ‘Corky’ Gripp;
Auxiliary Department Vice President M ‘Ronnie’ Heinemann;
District-5 President Pam Spencer and Commander Bruce
Spencer; Post-10188 Auxiliary President Eileen Bedel and
Commander Mike O’Daniels. Event organizer Chrissy Harlan
was joined by a number of volunteers to make this a really enjoyable
event. Everyone had lots of fun at this one.

(sitting L-R): Auxiliary Secretary Kim Sloan; Department
Commander Betty Gripp; Post-10188 Commander Mike O’Daniels
and Department Surgeon L. ‘Corky’ Gripp. Post-10188 Auxiliary
President Eileen Bedel is holding a basket stuffed
with goodies that were raffled-off at the event.

District-5
Auxiliary President Pam Spencer and Post-10188 Commander
Mike O’Daniels tried their best to win the pie-eating contest at
the July 4th picnic hosted by Post-10188; but the prize for being
the biggest glutton went to Alan Edwards. The kids didn’t
stand a chance.

The Hula-Hoop
contest held at the July 4th Picnic hosted by Post-10188 proved that
Chrissy Harlan is more agile than Pam Spencer; but
still not good-enough to beat the kids.

Auxiliary
Department Vice President‘Ronnie Heinemann’, Auxiliary-549
member Lucile Lombardo and District-5 President Pam
Spencer tried their best at the bean-bag tossing contest, but
the kids were too good for them.
