RECRUITER EXTRAORDINAIRE
Department Commander Ray Thomas congratulates Tim Borland for his extraordinary success in recruiting new members into the VFW. Tim is Sr-VC of Sierra Vista Post 9972 and Sr-VC of District-7. As of 1 February, Tim has recruited 128 new and reinstated members … and counting! Tim is on-track to set a new Arizona record, and perhaps a national milestone.

POST-10188
100% MEMBERSHIP

Department Sr-VC Betty Gripp with Department Commander Ray Thomas and Department Recruiter Lee Servin presents a Certificate of Appreciation to Tucson Post 10188 Commander Ken Short on reaching 100% in membership (District-5 Commander ‘Corky’ Gripp is in the background).

NEW LIFE-MEMBER
Department Sr-VC Betty Gripp with Department President Judith Hamlin and Department Commander Ray Thomas welcome Joshua Holden as a Life Member in the VFW; Tucson Post 10188. Joshua is a veteran of the Iraq war, where he contacted PNA (a rare bone marrow disease, which is terminal unless he gets a transplant). Comrades and Sisters attending the February District-5 meeting ‘spontaneously’ donated sufficient monies to pay for Joshua’s Life-Membership fee, with some left-over donated to Joshua’s efforts to raise awareness of his rare disease.

NATIONAL HOME BUS-TRIP
National Home Co-Chairs Ronnie Heinemann and Frank Martinez (pictured) are organizing a Bus-Trip to visit the VFW National Home for Children, with particular focus on the Arizona House there. Contact Ronnie or Frank soonest to reserve a seat before they are all taken.
