VETERANS and FAMILY SUPPORT EVENT COMMITTEE
by Alan Edwards

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Tucson has established a Veterans and Family Support (VFS) Event Planning Committee with the goal of organizing activities for families of Military personnel who are deployed overseas. The VFS Committee meets monthly at the Moose Lodge Chapter 2229 on Oracle Road. Their objective is to act as liaison with all Military Family Readiness Groups’ (FRG), veterans’ organizations and other organizations within the Tucson area. After only the second meeting there are already over 20 active members of the committee, including: Ladies Auxiliary members from Post 549 and 10188; five FRG; and an active duty soldier. Planning is already solidified for activities well into May. For further details about the Tucson VFS contact the Committee Chair Kim Sloan.
